Signed Dylan items wanted for Cancer Foundation auction

Friday, May 16th, 2008

On behalf of a young breast cancer survivor who contacted me, I’m sending out a request to all Bob Dylan collectors out there to donate signed items related to the artist for a charity auction to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation. The auction will be held in Mooresville, Indiana in August and is organized by the Mooresville Eagles Club, an organization like the VFW or the American Legion. In 2007 the club raised $7,000. It you are willing and able to donate one or more items for this good cause, please use this contact. Everything donated is tax deductible, all the necessary infos on that will be provided if needed. Thanks.

It’s Rolling Thunder hat time again!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Bob seems to have found his RTR hat again. In a series of recent gigs he was seen wearing a hat that looks like the one from the 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue tour. Keep on keepin’ on, Bob - it still fits!

Golden Globe for Blanchett

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Cate Blanchett has won the Best Supporting Actress Golden Globe award for playing Bob Dylan in the biopic “I’m Not There”. “I wish circumstances would allow me to be there,” the actress said in a statement, adding “None of this would be possible without the great man himself, Bob Dylan, wherever you are, whoever you are, I thank you deeply.”
The strike by the Writers Guild of America resulted in a simple news conference to announce the recipients, without any winners around.

Called home by the Highlands

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Happy 2008, Bob! This time it was probably Scotch and not Champagne Bob was drinking at his New Year’s party.- He and his brother David are said to have spent the time in Bob’s new $4 million home in the Cairngorms Mountains of the Highlands - west of Aberdeen.
After one year of renovating the Scottish castle it seems that finally it’s ready for moving in. Bob mentioned his passion for Scotland on several occasions, the last track on his 1997 “Time Out Of Mind” album is “Highlands”. In 2004 he accepted an honorary degree from St. Andrews University - he had only done this once before (Princeton, 1970). He his also regularly performing live in Scotland, and his classic song “The Times They Are A-Changin’” from 1964 is based on an old Scottish folk song by Hamish Henderson.
