He gave her his heart, but she wanted his soul...

...Don't think twice, it's all right. She was Dylan's girlfriend in the early 1960s and muse behind many of his early songs. Now, on February 24, Suze Rotolo died after a long illness.
"She was the most erotic thing I'd ever seen", Dylan recalls in his autobiography Chronicles, Volume One in 2004. But much more than that, she inspired him. Her political interest and familiar background is said to have had an essential influence on Dylan's early writing.
Rotolo never really appeared in public to talk about her years with Bob Dylan, until 2004. After a PBS interview she also appeared in Martin Scorsese's "No Direction Home" and published the book "A Freewheelin' Time: A Memoir of Greenwich Village in the Sixties" in 2008.
To the general public she will always remain in the memory for being "the girl on the Freewheelin' cover photo".
